5 Nonverbal Communication Strategies: How to Read Body Language (Open Body Posture)
How well can you truly read body language? Well, it turns out it depends on whether you're a man or a woman. In this video, I'm going to reveal which gender has the advantage when it comes to reading nonverbal cues. Then I'll share with you five nonverbal communication strategies, with a focus on maintaining open body posture. These strategies are intended to improve your confidence and your ability to read others, regardless of whether you're a man or a woman.
I know you must be wondering whether it’s men or women that are better at interpreting body language so here’s the short answer. Research shows that on average women can read nonverbal signals accurately up to 90% of the time while men it’s less than 50% of the time. Brain scans further reveal that multiple parts of the female brain light up when reading those nonverbal cues, while for a man it’s only a handful of areas.
Here’s the good news in all of this: even if you’re not great at reading people right now, you can learn how to read nonverbal cues and in the process improve your confidence.
